Diflucan is an azole antifungal used to treat vaginal yeast infections.
How to use Diflucan
Follow the directions for using Diflucan provided by your doctor. Diflucan may come with a patient information leaflet. Read it carefully. Ask your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist any questions that you may have about Diflucan. TAKE Diflucan by mouth. STORE Diflucan at room temperature, away from heat and light.
Cautions
If your symptoms do not improve within a few days or if they become worse, check with your doctor. DO NOT TAKE SELDANE (terfenadine) OR HISMANAL (astemizole) while taking Diflucan. IF YOU PLAN ON BECOMING PREGNANT, discuss with your doctor the benefits and risks of using Diflucan during pregnancy. Diflucan IS EXCRETED IN BREAST MILK. IF YOU ARE OR WILL BE BREAST-FEEDING while you are using Diflucan, check with your doctor or pharmacist to discuss the risks to your baby.
Possible Side Effects
SIDE EFFECTS, that may go away during treatment, include nausea, abdominal pain, or headache. If they continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience vomiting, diarrhea, or rash. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist. |
